Bogdan due back shortly

Yesterday, I wrote about and discussed (in the comments) whether Andy Lonergan has done enough to win the starting goalkeeper job out from under Adam Bogdan or whether his performances, despite two clean sheets, were nothing special. The consensus from the fans seems to be that until Lonergan does something to lose it, the job should be his. I'm not convinced and I think it would be extremely harsh on Adam Bogdan that missing one week (two matches) through injury would be enough to undo him. In my eyes, both goalkeepers are pretty level on talent but Bogdan has really started playing up to his potential in recent weeks.

Initially, Bolton Wanderers thought that Bogdan would miss three weeks with a groin injury sustained in the win against Barnsley but now, that return date has been pushed up. Speaking to the Bolton News, the goalkeeper revealed that he had begun training on grass just nine days after the injury and hopes to be back in contention shortly."I hope to be fit by the end of this week.

"I trained on the grass a little yesterday so hopefully things will go well and I can train with the rest of the team this week.

"I have played a lot of games and been enjoying it. But you cannot do anything about injuries, you just have to react in the right way and be fit as soon as possible and get going again."

"At the end of the day, the main thing is for you to do your best in training and games and do everything to get in the team.
