Saban: 4 charged Bama players dismissed from group

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) a' Four people for two-time defending national champion Alabama have been dismissed from school following their arrests after two robberies on campus. University speaker Deborah Lane said Wednesday that linebackers D.J. Pettway and Tyler Hayes, protection Eddie Williams and H-back Brent Calloway are no more enrolled following a judicial review. Crimson Tide instructor Nick Saban had early in the day said the people "are no further associated with the soccer program." "Their actions don't reflect the nature and character that we want our organization to reflect," Saban said. "It is obviously very frustrating and undesirable what happened. "I also think I'm really proud over the last five years that our team did a very good job with their individual responsibility and how they have represented the university. Some people learn by phrases, some people learn by implications, some people can not learn." Pettway, Williams and Hayes are charged with two counts of second-degree robbery. Calloway and Williams, who was not arrested in the robberies, are charged with fraudulent use of a bank card. Williams confessed to stealing students who had been kicked in the bones and hit in the head and face and right back. He explained Pettway and Hayes saw him commit another theft from a nearby car about an hour or so later, in accordance with documents. Hayes, 18, admitted to watching the 2nd and taking part in the first theft, documents said. Williams and Calloway, both 20, are appointed for early hearings on March 19 in Tuscaloosa District Court. Those two and 18-year-old Pettway have required youthful offender status. The very first student reported having his Apple Macbook Pro stolen from his backpack. Both had things stolen, reductions on the large swelling and face, and sustained gentle concussions, according to court documents. All four participants were copies last year for Alabama, which includes won three of yesteryear four BCS brands. Williams didn't perform in 2012, but he was one of the nation's top leads the prior year and moved from device to security. He said receiver Marvin Shinn has left the fellow and team receiver Danny Woodson is suspended for violating team rules and will not be involved in spring practice.
