Nba gets bid for Kings from Sacramento party

The NBA has received an official offer from 24 Hour Fitness founder Mark Mastrov and billionaire Ron Burkle to purchase the Sacramento Kings and keep the group from moving to Seattle. Nba spokesman Tim Frank confirmed the league received the bid Friday. Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson had announced the Mastrov-Burkle bet during his State of the City address Thursday evening. Jackson tweeted Friday: "The offer is IN!! A happy day for Sacramento!!" Mastrov is hoping to become the majority owner of the group. Burkle will lead the effort to construct a new downtown industry he hopes will attract back a WNBA franchise. A Seattle group includes a signed agreement to get the Kings from the Maloof family. The NBA Board of Governors is expected to vote by mid-April on the bet. If the Seattle deal is blocked by the league, the Maloofs would still have to agree to provide the team to any potential buyers.
